The Starting of Nai Choir's New Location in West Etobicoke
Today (May 16, 2018), a group of Nai Children who live in the city's west end and Mississauga will gather and practice singing at Bloordale United Church (4258 Bloor St W, Etobicoke, ON M9C 1Z7) from 4:30 to 6:30. This rehearsal will herald a promising partnership between the church congregation and CultureLink's Nai Choir.
Nai's new west end location brings our choir a lot more closer to where our clients are and helps make our music programs more accessible to the Syrian newcomer community, one of the mandates that qualifies us for the Ontario Trillium Foundation's "Inspired People" grant. We welcome all children, aged 6-14, whose families fleeing the wars in the recent years, to join us for singing and music skill development every Wednesday at this location.
Being very active in sponsoring and supporting refugees from the war-torn Middle-East, the church is very excited about hosting Nai Children and has already extended their Iftar dinner invite to the Nai community. We look forward to bringing joyful children' voices to this new location and the welcoming community around there.
